This week, a number of key highways and A-roads in Kent, including the M2 and M20, will be closed. Following the suspension of most road repair and enhancement programs during the bank holiday weekend, nightly closures will resume on Tuesday, August 27.
The M2 eastbound will close at Junction 4 between the entry and exit slip ramps on Wednesday, August 28. Closing for a total of ten hours at night will enable the completion of inspection tasks.
The Warren Bridge, which crosses the M2 close to Hartlip, will completely close on Tuesday, August 27, in order to complete a significant repair project. Resurfacing, waterproofing, expansion joint replacement, and barrier work are all necessary to preserve the bridge’s structural integrity.
Closures will be necessary for these repairs in two stages: from August 27 to September 13 and from September 30 to October 16. The M20 will close between the entry and exit slip roads at Junction 13 for two nights later this week, initially on the eastbound lane and subsequently the westbound one.

Tuesday, August 27
- The A2 westbound Bonny Bush Hill exit slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for surveys.
- The A20 westbound Courtwood entry and exit slips will close from 8pm to 6am for maintenance.
- The A20 eastbound will close between Critall’s Corner and Swanley Interchange from 5am on August 27 to 5am on August 28 for urgent drainage and resurfacing works.
- The A21 will close in both directions between Robertsbridge and the John Cross roundabout from 8pm to 6am for carriageway improvements.
- The A21 northbound Westerham Road eastbound exit slip will close from 10pm to 5.30am for sign works.
- The M2 eastbound Junction 4 exit slip will close from 8pm to 6am for inspection works.
- The M2 eastbound Junction 2 entry slip will close from 8pm to 6am for maintenance.
- The M20 eastbound Junction 8 entry slip remains closed while Operation Brock is in place.
- The M20 westbound Junction 6 exit slip to entry slip distributor road is closed until 8pm on October 31.
- The M25 anti-clockwise Junction 1A entry slip will close between 10pm and 5.30am for tunnel works.
Wednesday, August 28
- The A2 eastbound Adisham Road entry and exit slips will close from 8pm to 6am for surveys.
- The A20 westbound will close from Swanley Interchange to Critall’s Corner from 10pm to 5am for drainage works.
- The A21 southbound Quarry Hill exit slip, including the viaduct section, will close from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.
- The A21 will close in both directions between Robertsbridge and the John Cross roundabout from 8pm to 6am for carriageway improvements.
- The A21 southbound Westerham exit will close from 10pm to 6am for maintenance.
- The A21 northbound Westerham Road eastbound exit slip will close from 10pm to 5.30am for sign works.
- The M2 eastbound will close at Junction 4 between the entry and exit slip from 8pm to 6am for inspection works.
- The M20 eastbound Junction 8 entry slip remains closed while Operation Brock is in place.
- The M20 westbound Junction 6 exit slip to entry slip distributor road is closed until 8pm on October 31.

- The A20 westbound Alkham Valley entry slip will close from 8pm to 6am for maintenance.
- The A20 westbound will close from Swanley Interchange to Critall’s Corner from 10pm to 5am for drainage works.
- The A21 southbound Quarry Hill exit slip, including the viaduct section, will close from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.
- The A21 will close in both directions between Robertsbridge and the John Cross roundabout from 8pm to 6am for carriageway improvements.
Friday, August 30
- The A2 eastbound Coxhill Road exit slip will close from 8pm to 6am for surveys.
- The A2 eastbound Coldharbour lane entry slip will close from 8pm to 6am for horticulture works.
- The A20 westbound Courtwood entry slip will close from 11pm to 6am for maintenance.
- The A21 southbound Quarry Hill exit slip, including the viaduct section, will close from 8pm to 6am for bridge works.
- The A21 will close in both directions between Robertsbridge and the John Cross roundabout from 8pm to 6am for carriageway improvements.
- The A21 northbound Westerham Road eastbound exit slip will close from 11pm to 5.30am for sign works.

- The M20 westbound Junction 6 to Junction 5 distributor road will close between 8pm and 6am for bridge works. The westbound Junction 6 entry slip will also close during this time
Sunday, September 1
- The A21 southbound will close from the Westerham Junction to Vauxhall Lane between 8pm and 6am for barrier works.
- The M20 eastbound Junction 8 entry slip remains closed while Operation Brock is in place.
- The M20 westbound Junction 6 exit slip to entry slip distributor road is closed until 8pm on October 31.
- The M20 eastbound will close between Junction 7 and Junction 9 from 7pm to 6am for traffic control measures. Traffic will be diverted via the A249, M2, A2, A20 and M20.
- The M20 westbound will close from Junction 9 to Junction 8 between 7pm and 6am for traffic control measures. Traffic will be diverted via the M20, A20, A2, M2 and A229.
