There were delays throughout the afternoon
Drivers experienced severe gridlock on the A21 near Tunbridge Wells this afternoon as a crash closed a vital length of the road. A collision was reported on the southbound lane between the intersections with the A26 and the A228, near Pembury.
Both lanes of the southbound carriageway were restricted throughout the afternoon, resulting in significant traffic congestion on the approach. National Highways reported at least 10-minute delays in the vicinity at the time.
According to traffic and travel monitoring service Inrix, a car was involved in the crash. It is not yet known if any other vehicles were involved or if there have been any injuries.
