Premier League Giant ‘enquire’ about Bayer Levekusen Defender transfer as £100m stance emerges

If reports are accurate, Manchester United may have a hectic closing to the summer transfer window.

Joshua Zirkzee has already joined United, becoming their first summer addition. Following an agreement with Bologna, the striker signed a contract that would last until 2029 with the option to extend it by one more year.

United’s focus will now shift to the potential for more new hires. The Reds are rumoured to be targeting Matthijs de Ligt, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Leny Yoro before the transfer window ends.

MEN Sport has examined some of the most recent transfer rumours that have circulated in the media during the past 24 hours.

Jonathan Tah, a defender for Bayer Leverkusen, is reportedly being linked to United. Although it was largely anticipated that the centre defender would sign for Bayern Munich this summer, a new report suggests the Reds are still in the running.

According to Sky Germany, United has contacted Leverkusen to inquire about the potential of signing Tah. According to the report, no offer has been made as of yet, despite United showing increasing confidence in a deal with Bayern Munich.

Joao Neves, a midfield player for Benfica, is still being linked to United. But according to a recent update, the Reds might decide not to sign the Portugal international after all.

According to Caught Offside, Benfica is determined to honour their appraisal of Neves, which is the €120 million (£100 million) price included in the player’s release clause. Benfica’s position may force United to consider other options even though they still want to get Neves before the transfer window ends on September 2.
