By adding former Football League striker Timmy Abraham to their roster, Tonbridge has expanded their options for attack.
After leaving Boreham Wood, the 23-year-old, who is the brother of Roma and former Chelsea striker Tammy, became a free agent.
His presence gives Trevan Robinson much-needed backup, as Noel Leighton’s probable two-month absence due to an ankle injury sustained during preseason is concerning.
He might make his debut this afternoon at Aveley, and on Monday night, Tonbridge will visit Chelmsford.
The Angels website was informed by manager Jay Saunders that “Timmy is an important signing for us.”
It would be difficult to complete all of the next games, so we really need that competition in the forward regions. For that reason, I wanted another player who is familiar with the levels.
“Of course Timmy does that; he gives the team strength, speed, and, hopefully, a few goals.”
After spending time on loan at Bristol Rovers, Plymouth, Newport, and the Scottish team Raith Rovers, Abraham, then 17 years old, joined Fulham from Charlton.
After leaving Fulham, Abraham signed with Walsall before loaning out to Oldham in League 1.
After moving to Boreham Wood, he signed a two-month loan agreement to play for Maidstone, the team that neighbours Angels.
