Man United happy to take hit on £60m signing with two Saudi clubs

According to talkSPORT, Manchester United is eager to pay up for midfielder Casemiro, who may become the latest famous player to leave Europe for Saudi Arabia.

The 32-year-old, who spent £60 million to move from Real Madrid to Old Trafford in 2022, had a lacklustre second season there.
Due to his lack of consistency, the Red Devils finished ninth in the Premier League, and he was not included in Brazil’s Copa America team.

And because United is reportedly glad to have him off their payroll, he may now be ready for a new adventure in the Middle East.

TalkSPORT revealed in February that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the team’s new minority owner, was ready to absorb a significant loss against the five-time Champions League champion.

He would likely cost between £25 and £30 million with bonuses, which is a significant decrease from the £60 million they spent on him just two years prior.

In May, we also revealed that Casemiro was reportedly being pursued by Saudi clubs, and that he would soon reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.

There’s still a chance he’ll sign with his former Real teammate; Luis Castro’s group is one of two viable choices.

The first is the current league leaders Al Ittihad, where he would team up with French maestro N’Golo Kante, as well as fellow legends Karim Benzema and Fabinho from Los Blancos.

Al-Qadsiah, Al Ahli, and Al Hilal have previously shown interest in Casemiro.

Following his 11-year tenure as United’s sporting director, John Murtough visited the Gulf nation in January and conducted conversations concerning Casemiro’s possible departure.

Currently, it’s unclear if Casemiro would be amenable to moving to Saudi Arabia.

It’s anticipated that at the end of the month, he will speak with manager Erik ten Hag about his future.

If the athlete indicates that he is willing to switch, bids can come in quickly.

This is due to the fact that clubs will be attempting to swiftly overtake European teams in the market when the Saudi transfer window starts on July 17.
