Police said the man, in his 50s, was taken to a local hospital for treatment
A busy town route was shut in both directions for around three hours today, The A26 Tonbridge Road in Maidstone was closed, near the Esso service station, due to a car and motorbike crash. Kent Police and paramedics were called to the collision just before 9.25am and the road was subsequently shut in both directions. It remained closed until about 12.30pm.
A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called just before 9.25am, to a collision between a car and a motorbike on Tonbridge Road, Maidstone. Officers attended the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, where a man in his 50s was taken to a local hospital for treatment to his injuries.
“His next of kin is aware and the road has since been re-opened.” As a result of the road closure bus company Arriva told people it was not able to serve all stops from Bower Lane to Cherry Orchard Way earlier today.
