A busy town route which was shut for around three hours has now reopened
Following an accident between a car and a motorbike, a guy was sent to the hospital. Just before 9.25 a.m. today, Kent Police were called to a collision on the A26 Tonbridge Road in Maidstone.
On the site, paramedics were also summoned. After thereafter, the busy town route was blocked in both directions next to the Esso service station. It remained blocked till today afternoon at around 12.30 p.m.
“Kent Police was called just before 9.25am to a collision between a car and a motorbike on Tonbridge Road, Maidstone,” a police spokesperson stated. Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service responded to the site, and a man in his 50s was sent to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention for his wounds.
“His next of kin is aware and the road has since been re-opened.” Arriva, the bus company, informed customers earlier today that it was unable to service all stops from Bower Lane to Cherry Orchard Way due to the road closure.
