Police received reports of a one-vehicle crash in Amble, Northumberland soon before 6:30am on Monday; a man was unfortunately pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 60s died in a one-vehicle collision in Amble, Northumberland, prompting Northumbria Police to appeal for witnesses and information.
Just before 6.30 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of a single-vehicle collision in Amble. According to reports, a Kia Sportage was driving down Percy Drive when it lost control and slammed with a wall.
Emergency services attended but despite the effortsFollowing the incident, officers from Northumbria Police’s Roads Policing team have carried out enquiries to try to establish exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the collision. They are now asking anyone who was travelling in the area at that time and witnessed what happened to come forward with information.
of medical staff, the driver of the vehicle, a man in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. His next of kin have been informed are being supported by specially trained officers.
Officers are especially eager to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage. Sergeant Dave Roberts of Northumbria Police’s Roads Policing squad said: “This is a heartbreaking instance in which a man has regrettably passed away.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s friends and family as they try to cope with the loss of their loved one. Our inquiry is in its early stages, and we are doing everything we can to better understand what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
“I encourage anyone with any information – no matter how insignificant they think it may be – to come forward.”
