There are five head coach positions available right now, and there are plenty of qualified applicants.
With the conclusion of the NFL regular season, many clubs are now formally beginning their offseason. Significant changes are also being made at the top of a number of the underperforming teams, particularly at the head coach position. Shortly after the New England Patriots concluded their 2024 season with a 4-13 record, the team took the first step in their decision to fire first-year coach Jerod Mayo on Sunday.
The Jaguars quickly fired Doug Pederson on Monday morning, but they kept general manager Trent Baalke.
The New Orleans Saints fired Dennis Allen, the Chicago Bears fired Matt Eberflus, and the New York Jets fired Robert Saleh earlier this season, giving other teams a jump start on rebuilds. Since then, prominent candidates, including former head coaches Ron Rivera and Mike Vrabel, have been connected to each of those teams.
Which well-known figures might be let go next? Which teams are ready to think about making their own radical changes?
