Serious life threatening injury accident in Thatcham, police are appealing for witnesses

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to a serious injury collision in Thatcham.

On Tuesday, at approximately 9.33 a.m., a black Ford Tourneo cab collided with a pedestrian using a walking frame on High Street.

The victim, a woman in her late 70s, suffered a severe head injury and a cerebral bleed.

She required care at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, where she remains.

According to investigating officer PC Jamie Payne of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, “We are appealing for the public’s assistance in our investigation after a woman sustained a very serious head injury.”

“We would want to invite anyone who observed the collision or has dashcam evidence to come forward.
