Rangers fc announces biggest signing of the week worth 70million pounds

Cai McNamara, a former attacking midfielder for Edinburgh City, has joined with Berwick Rangers for the upcoming campaign. He is the team’s third signing since Thursday.

Following the announcement of Jack Brown and Matthew Collins, McNamara, who is nineteen years old, may play up front, on the wing, or as an offensive midfielder. Last season, he played in 23 games for the Citizens in SPFL League 1, facing teams like Falkirk, Hamilton Academical, and Queen of the South.

In the preseason friendly against Dunbar United, McNamara played for the Wee ‘Gers as a trialist, starting from the bench. He is the most recent trialist to commit to a permanent move, in Cai’s case, a two-year contract that keeps the young player at MKM Shielfield Park through the end of the 2025–2026 season.

Berwick manager Thomas Scobbie expressed his happiness about McNamara’s accession to the team, saying, “I am really pleased to have Cai join the club.” After joining the team a few weeks ago, he has truly demonstrated traits that the Berwick supporters will adore. He is a quick player that can play a variety of positions with a lot of enthusiasm. He always tries to play forward and get the ball down. We are thrilled to have another youthful attacker join the club, and we can’t wait to watch Cai grow with the black and gold.

There are two more preseason matches for Berwick before the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League season gets underway on July 27. The Wee ‘Gers play home to Haddington Athletic this coming weekend before wrapping up their friendlies against Morpeth Town, a Northumbrian team. Both games begin off at MKM Shielfield Park at 3 p.m.
