Real Betis has finally signed Sporting CP Star Which gat fans angry

The powers that be at La Liga outfit Real Betis have identified a member of the defensive ranks at Sporting CP as a potential summer signing.

Mundo Deportivo reports this based on Portuguese sources, which identify the player in question as Iván Fresneda.

For his part, right-back Fresneda was able to convince Sporting to send him to the Primeira Liga last summer.

The 19-year-old was highly regarded as a future star in Spain, and the Lisbon giants defeated opposition from a plethora of rival suitors to recruit him.

It’s safe to say, though, that his first season on Sporting’s roster did not go as planned.

In truth, Fresneda was only given five league appearances due to a mix of form issues and fitness issues.

Consequently, it shouldn’t be shocking to learn that the child is expected to return home shortly.

Sporting CP’s brass would consider Fresneda’s sale if an offer that was judged appropriate arrived on the club’s desks, according to Record via MD.

And Real Betis, it is known, are prepared to profit from such a stance.

While they continue to work to strengthen Manuel Pellegrini’s alternatives at right-back, the Verdiblancos are prepared to look for a first loan agreement for Fresneda that includes a buyout option or an obligation to buy.

Whether their peers at Estádio José Alvalade would be interested in such a proposal is still up in the air.
