A guy has been detained following a triple stabbing in Manchester that killed one woman and critically injured two others.
The 43-year-old woman died at the scene after being discovered with stab wounds at a residence on Barnard Road, Gorton, about 11.20 p.m. on Sunday.
A 17-year-old girl and a 64-year-old man were both injured and transported to the hospital, where their circumstances were characterized as critical.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Greater Manchester Police said the stabbing was likely a domestic incident, and the suspect was known to the victims.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Adrian Girtchen stated, “We can feel the shock waves that this incident has sent through the local community, who either witnessed the attack or woke up this morning to hear the tragic news.”

Police are appealing for witnesses.
Detective Superintendent Toby Facey had previously stated that an inquiry had been begun and that the force was in the “very early stages of our inquiries,” adding that there would be heightened police patrols in the area.
