At around 12am on Thursday, August 29, a man wearing a grey tracksuit and a balaclava, described as 5″5 tall with a slim build, entered a newsagent on Lutterworth Road.
He reportedly demanded money from two shop employees while brandishing what seemed to be a black firearm.
The guy fled empty-handed as the two store employees headed to the rear of the establishment.
We recognise that the incident will leave residents and business owners extremely frightened, and I would like to make it clear that there will be more police presence in the area in the coming days, stated Detective Inspector Sartoris.
“We would like to ask anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible as our investigation is progressing.”
