On Tuesday, a man was hit by a train in Coventry, causing ‘life-changing’ injuries.
Emergency vehicles, including fire engines, ambulances, police, and a Network Rail incident vehicle, were seen near Spencer Park at the railway bridge’s entrance.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire critical care car arrived at the location. It responded to 999 reports regarding a ‘situation on the rails’ near Warwick Road shortly before 9.30 a.m.
“Upon arrival, we discovered a man,” an ambulance service spokesperson stated. “He was checked and had suffered possibly life-threatening injuries.
“He received advanced trauma care at the scene before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry by land ambulance with continued treatment en-route.” A British Transport Police representative added: “Officers were called to the line near Coventry at around 9.18 a.m. today after reports of a casualty on the tracks.”
“Paramedics also attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.”
