Five teenagers from Huddersfield have appeared in court for taking a life with a deadly weapon in just three months.

Five teenagers from Huddersfield have been remanded in custody for their roles in gruesome knife killings in just three months.

Following a protracted trial, Khalfan Seif’s killers were found guilty of both murder and manslaughter earlier this week. The 15-year-old schoolboy’s murder was found guilty by a jury in May, and the perpetrators were given life sentences.
In just three months, all of those found guilty were teenagers. One was only fifteen.

In addition, two teenagers are scheduled to appear in court on charges related to the stabbing death of Harley Brown on a street in Huddersfield. Yorkshire’s judges hear cases involving knife crime on a weekly basis, which is all too common.

Not only have the lives of the victims been brutally taken from them, and their families have been made to relive their final moments, but the lives of the teenagers whose choice to carry a knife has destroyed their own are also affected. Officers join young men in the docks as attorneys present their case to juries, who have the difficult job of deciding whether or not to find them guilty.

Like Jovani Harriott and Jakele Pusey, Amaan, 19, and Sahil Ansar, 18, face a life sentence. Upon their release from custody, each of the four will have a lifelong license, subject to a minimum term that will be determined.
