Essex cyclist carrying a child killed in fatal collision with car at Colchester

A collision with a car near Colchester resulted in the death of an elderly cyclist. Investigators are looking into a fatal July car and bike collision.

At about 12:20 p.m. on Friday, Essex Police were dispatched to the scene, which was in Argents Lane, close to West Bergholt. The cyclist, a man in his 70s, tragically passed away at the scene.

His family has been notified and is receiving assistance. A 69-year-old Colchester resident was taken into custody on charges of reckless driving resulting in death his son survived the crash with minor injures
