Following violence that broke out during anti-immigration protests in the resort earlier this month, Lancashire Police has announced the two individuals who are the most recent to face charges.
The charges against Daniel Stewart, 28, of Ashton Road, Blackpool, are assault by beating and violent disorder.
He was remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates Court today (13th August).
Violent disorder is the charge against 32-year-old Blackpool resident Andrew Hook of Coronation Street. His appearance before Preston Magistrates Court today is scheduled on remand.
In addition, a 17-year-old teenager was detained yesterday after being accused of violent conduct.
“We are continuing to make arrests and charge people following the disorder seen in some parts of our county,” stated Lancashire Police Det. Ch. Supt. Pauline Stables.
“This is a continuous investigation, and additional people will be taken into custody.
“We are committed to holding those responsible for disorder in Lancashire accountable, and we will not stand for it.”
We express our gratitude to all community members impacted by the disease for their cooperation and understanding.
“We will continue to police in a way that puts you at the centre of everything we do. Public safety is our top priority.”
