The A1036 Malton Road is closed since this morning.
A major road in York, North Yorkshire, has been closed while police investigate a crash. It has been reported that a car carrier crashed into a ditch.
Inrix, the traffic management system, reports that the A1036 Malton Road is closed in both directions due to accident investigation work. The westbound roadway is closed between the A1237 and Hopgrove Lane South, and the eastbound route is closed between Jockey Lane and the A1237.
This has been going on since 10 a.m. today, and traffic is supposed to be moving along smoothly.
According to Inrix, “A1036 Malton Road Westbound is closed due to accident investigation work between the A1237 and Hopgrove Lane South.” Traffic is doing great. Ongoing since about 10:00 a.m. “The eastbound closure is slightly longer.”
They said, “A1036 Malton Road Eastbound is closed due to accident investigation work from Jockey Lane (Monks Cross Park And Ride roundabout) to the A1237. Traffic is doing great. Ongoing since roughly 10 a.m. “The westbound closure is a little shorter.”
The North Yorkshire Police have been approached for comment.
According to North Yorkshire Police, a road traffic collision has closed the A1036 Malton Road between the Monks Cross Roundabout (near the Park and Ride) and the roundabout leading to the A1237 (near Hopgrove).
“Diversions are being put in place and we request that motorists please avoid travelling on this route.”
