Woman fighting for life in hospital following a terrifying tragic crash on A259 Hythe Road, near Dymchurch,

A major road was closed in both directions following a collision involving two cars.

Police, paramedics, and an air ambulance were dispatched to the A259 Hythe Road, near Dymchurch, following the incident yesterday afternoon between Burmarsh Road and Marine Avenue.

Kent County Council Highways advised drivers to take an alternate route and allow extra time for their journey.

A woman with significant life threathening injuries was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London, while a male was transported by car to William Harvey Hospital for additional treatment.

According to a police spokesperson, “The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and reopened at around 6pm.”

Traffic was spotted queuing in both directions following the incident, which occurred at 1.50pm near the Neptune Pub and Carvery.

According to sources, the collision was cleared in both directions from Botolphs Bridge Road to Burmarsh Road around 6.20 p.m.
