Teacher jailed for child sex offences

For engaging in child sex offenses, a former primary school teacher and scout leader was sentenced to prison.

When a person Samuel Robinson, 27, thought was a 13-year-old in April 2023, it was actually a ruse from an internet child advocacy group.

The decoy told him they were thirteen times over, but he persisted in the sexual talk. On April 11, he was taken into custody, charged with many juvenile sex offenses, and entered a guilty plea.

Robinson, of Milton, near Cambridge, on Butt Lane, was given a two-year and ten-month prison sentence at Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday.

Between April 7 and April 11, of last year, Robinson had been communicating with the dummy over social media platforms before he was arrested.

According to Cambridgeshire Police, he was arrested after the activist group paid him a visit at his residence on April 11.

Following the seizure of Robinson’s electronics, it was discovered through a review of his Snapchat account that he had also been in contact with a 15-year-old girl between May 2021 and June 2022.

He offered to provide offensive photos of himself, and the conversation turned sexual.

He had previously entered a guilty plea to charges of having sex with a minor, trying to have intercourse with a minor, and trying to get a girl to have sex.

According to Det Con Caroline Murphy of Cambridgeshire Police, Robinson’s teaching or his position as a scout leader were unrelated to the offenses.

Robinson was horrified to speak with what he thought were youngsters in such a manner and engage them in blatantly inappropriate talk since he was fully aware of the responsibility we all have to protect youth, the speaker continued.

“This instance demonstrates how seriously we take safeguarding children from harm.
