A Championship manager has shot down a report that stated Sheffield Wednesday, among three other clubs, had made an offer for a gifted former Celtic player. At least on his team’s side.
As teams compete for spots ahead of the upcoming season, the transfer market is well underway. Wednesday is one of the more busy clubs in the EFL, having added a number of new players. Karamoko Dembele was one name that a former journalist firmly associated with the club earlier this week.
Three Championship bids were reportedly made available for the Brest trickster, who spent the previous season on loan with Blackpool and has become the focus of numerous media reports this summer.
Though we haven’t been able to confirm rumours of a bid being made, The Star claimed early in the summer that Dembele was one of the players the Owls were considering. Along with the re-signing of Josh Windass, Wednesday has added other attacking additions since that May report, including Jamal Lowe, Charlie McNeill, and Olaf Kobacki. Ike Ugbo is still being sought after, and further action may yet come from this direction.

It’s still possible that more action will emerge from the pursuit of Ike Ugbo.
