It is thought that a worker at a key London office block became stranded on the top level, ultimately leading to their death.
Rallying to 10 Fleet Place at approximately 10.20 am, paramedics, police, and firefighters responded to a man who had become stuck on the ninth level.
The Standard was informed by an office worker that “no one knew what was going on; our bosses didn’t tell us.”
Many fire engines, police cars, and other vehicles were there. Today, there have been maintenance personnel on every story of the structure.
“It’s quite tragic to pass away at work. Nobody is compensated fairly for that.
The worker is thought to have become stuck in machinery, according to a source, but a lift is ruled out.
After road blocks were lifted, forensics from the City of London Police were the last ones on the site.
According to a London Fire Brigade spokesman, they were called in response to a guy who was reportedly stuck on the ninth level.
He said, “Crews tried to save the man, but he tragically passed away at the scene.”
“Fire engines from the Dowgate, Islington, and Soho fire stations, along with partners from the City of London Police and London Ambulance Service, attended the scene, including a fire rescue unit.”
“We sent numerous resources to the scene, including two ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a clinical team manager, and members of our hazardous area response team (HART),” a London Ambulance Service spokeswoman continued. In addition, we sent out London’s Air Ambulance.
Sadly, a person was declared dead at the site despite the best efforts of our staff.
“Officers were called at 10:07am to an industrial incident in Fleet Place to assist the London Fire Brigade, London’s Air Ambulance, and London Ambulance Service,” said Chief Inspector Tom Fisher of the City of London Police. Regretfully, one person passed away there.
The business whose floor the man passed away on refused to respond.
