Jay Z is an American rapper, producer and an entrepreneur. His real name is Shawn Corey Carter, he is however known for his stage name Jay Z, he initially used the stage name Jazzy which was inspired by his childhood idol rapper Jaz O.
Jay Z was born on December 4, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York, United States of America. He is 54 years old as of March 2024. The popular rapper was born to Adnis Reeves and Gloria Carter. He was raised in Marcy Houses, a public housing project in Brooklyn.
He was raised by his mother along with his three other siblings when his father abandoned the family at a very young age. Jay Z claims he shot his older brother on the shoulder for stealing his jewelry when he was just 12 years old.
