A Topsham man who was convicted of child sexual assault and was incarcerated in a state jail has been charged on federal offences.
On Thursday, Henry Eichman, 64, of Topsham, was charged with four federal counts related to child sex exploitation. Due to a district court conviction for child sexual assault, the former director of a youth theatre in Topsham is currently serving a 10-year sentence in state prison.
Eichman is charged with forcing four females to participate in “sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions of such conduct” according to the additional allegations. The abuse was allegedly committed between 2014 and 2016, which is roughly when the abuse for which he was found guilty in 2018 occurred.
The indictment further claims that the materials used to create the sexually explicit depictions were shipped or mailed as part of the abuse.
Ten pieces of technology—including two PCs, six hard drives, and two cameras—that the government will take from Eichman if he is found guilty are listed in the indictment. According to the dossier, these might have been connected to the purportedly graphic abuse depictions.
