Flowers have been placed next to a lake in Cambridge where the body of a teenage boy was discovered on Tuesday, August 13. Following a boy’s incident at Cherry Hinton’s Burnside Lake on Monday night (August 12), Cambridgeshire Police stated they had found a corpse there.
It’s believed the 16-year-old Essex native was having trouble swimming in the lake with several companions when he ran into trouble. Concerns about a teenage kid in the water prompted the ambulance service to contact police to the lake at 5:26 p.m. on Monday.
The site on Wednesday morning (August 14) had a flower tribute. The flowers came with a card that read, “RIP. A youthful spirit lost forever. Our prayers and thoughts.”
Although a formal identification has not yet been completed, it is thought that the body belongs to the missing youngster. His family has been informed.
