Ruari Paton will join Queen’s Park in English League 2 for an undisclosed amount when the two sides come to an agreement.
Ruari only played at Queen’s Park for one season after leaving Queen of the South, but in that time he scored 22 goals, leaving a lasting impression.
The 23-year-old, who was born in Dublin, began the season by scoring in exhibition games against Celtic and Kilmarnock. However, he was absent from Saturday’s victory at Peterhead because he travelled south to have talks with the Stoke-on-Trent team.
After these talks came to an end, the clubs decided to move forward with the deal. Callum Davidson of Queen’s Park stated, “It is not surprising that Ruari has drawn interest and secured a transfer to English football.” We felt that something would happen this summer because he was excellent for us the previous season and goal scorers are always in demand in the football world.
It has now, and we want the best for him.
