Body pulled from Blue River, Kansas City police appeal for witnesses

According to a police spokesperson, an investigation is underway into the death of a man whose body was discovered floating in the Blue River on Tuesday morning.


According to Sgt. Phil DiMartino of the Kansas City Police Department, officers were called to the scene at around 10 a.m. after hearing reports of a body floating in the river close to Interstate 70 and Manchester Trafficway. Firefighters from Kansas City arrived at the scene to assist in removing the body from the river.

The individual was pronounced dead, according to DiMartino, after the body was carried to shore. The man’s death is still being looked into.
