Authorities have confirmed that a body was unfortunately found early today in Melrose’s Eildon Hill neighborhood.
In the course of looking for a teenage girl who vanished over the weekend, a body has been discovered.

Although formal identification has not yet occurred, Kamie Gimbutyle, better known as Rhian, has been notified of his family.
The 18-year-old was last seen on Sunday, September 15, at 2:00 PM in the Melrose neighborhood. It was thought that she had gone for a stroll in the Scottish Borders town’s Eildon Hill neighborhood.
According to the officers, there doesn’t seem to be anything unusual about her demise. We are going to submit a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
“A body was found in the Eildon Hill area of Melrose earlier today, Monday, September 16, 2024,” according to a statement from Police Scotland.
Although official identification has not yet occurred, the family of missing 18-year-old Kamile Gimbutyle, also known as Rhian, has been notified.
“There don’t seem to be any unusual circumstances, and the Procurator Fiscal will receive a report.”
