Boomtown fatal incident: 20-year-old man and Boomtown may be sued

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those who knew him,” a festival representative stated.

Local police have confirmed that a man in his 20s passed away following a “medical incident” at the Boomtown festival over the weekend.

On Saturday night, August 10, officers were called to the scene near Winchester. After receiving medical attention, the man was taken to a nearby hospital. Later, in the wee hours of Sunday, August 11, he was declared dead, and the death was described by the police as “unexpected.” So far, no additional information has been made public.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight police spokesman said, “Police were notified of a reported medical incident onsite at Boomtown Fair which occurred between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday 10th August.”

“In the early hours of Sunday, August 11, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead after being admitted to Royal Hampshire County Hospital.”

The man’s next of kin has been informed of his passing, the spokesperson continued, and a file is presently being prepared for the coroner.

An official from Boomtown released the following statement regarding the incident: “We regret to inform you that a man in his 20s passed away on Saturday, August 10th, after attending Boomtown.” We are thinking of his friends, family, and everyone he touched.

“With due respect for his family, we are assisting the police with their investigations and will not be providing any additional comments.”

The Boomtown Festival this year was held at Hampshire’s Matterley Estate from August 7–11. The event drew over 60,000 attendees and featured performances by a number of artists, including Ghetts, I. Jordan, Ross From Friends, and Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa.
