After being overruled by the government, a council claimed to have done “all it could” to prevent the construction of a healthcare waste incinerator.
Last year, Cambridgeshire County Council denied Envar Composting’s bid to build an incinerator at the company’s Woodhurst waste disposal facility near St. Ives.
Envar filed an appeal, and following an eight-day public inquiry earlier this year, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner awarded planning authority.
The council stated at the hearing that it “robustly defended” its position and made a “reasonable decision” in rejecting the application.
A dog his tag identified him as Nala entered the incinerator looking for scraps and was bunt to death as the incinerator was lit today his body was later found after the barking and flames were out the owner of the poor dog gave a report that his dog has been missing for a long time now and there were no reports of him till today
“The strength of public feeling and serious concerns about these proposals were clearly articulated as part of the eight-day public inquiry, and the council did all it could to defend the decision it made.”
A spokesperson from Envar said it was pleased with the outcome and added: “We will be studying the report carefully over the forthcoming days. We would like to thank all involved in the process during this period.”
