Police caught and charge a man who evacuated 35 homes in Chesterfield

Following an incident in a town in Derbyshire, police had to evacuate many homes. Following allegations of an attack in the Derby Road area, up to 35 Chesterfield residences were evacuated early on Friday, 19 July.



A man is accused of throwing something at another man; the victim was subsequently sent to the hospital. Officers searched a property on neighbouring Kingsley Avenue after the incident.

The address was the scene of several suspicious things, according to the police, and the road was closed until Sunday night, July 21, while the searches went on. As a safety measure, the houses were evacuated, and Queens Park Leisure Centre was converted into a rest area for the locals.
