Police today confirmed that a man’s body had been discovered at Grimsby’s Royal Dock.
Four police cars are parked near the water’s edge in pictures taken at the scene. According to the police, there is currently no explanation for the man’s death.
“Officers are currently in attendance at Royal Dock in Grimsby following the discovery of a body this afternoon (Thursday, May 2),” Humberside Police stated in a statement released this afternoon. At approximately 2:00 PM, we were notified of the discovery of a deceased man on a boat.”
Detective Inspector Tom Kelly stated: “We are following lines of inquiry to identify the man, whose death is currently being treated as unexplained. We are in the very early stages of our investigation.”

“Those in the vicinity can anticipate an increased police presence while we work to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death,” the statement reads. “A scene guard remains in place.”
