Coedpoeth native Davies has made 149 appearances for the Reds since re-joining them in 2020.
The 25-year-old product of Wrexham Academy appeared off the bench 26 times during the team’s six starts in the previous campaign.
The timing was perfect, according to club manager Phil Parkinson, for the midfielder to start playing regularly with the first squad.
Parkinson stated on the team’s website: “Jordan needs to be playing regularly at this point in his career.”
“After assessing our current situation, we’ve determined that Jordan won’t likely be starting for us on a regular basis, so this move allows him to accomplish that.
“The football club values him highly as a player, and we wish him the best of luck this season.”
Davies will now be reunited with former teammate and captain Shaun Pearson at Blundell Park, where he serves as assistant head coach at Grimsby. David Artell, the head coach of the Mariners, is another former Wrexham player.
