Update: Person dies after being hit by a train in Maidenhead

A person who was struck by a train today close to Maidenhead Railway Station has died, according to confirmation from the British Transport Police.

At 12:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the station in response to reports of a fatality on the tracks.

According to a BTP statement, “paramedics and officers responded, but regrettably, one person was declared dead at the spot.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Some lines have already reopened, according to Great Western Railway, but delays are anticipated until 4 p.m.

12.50 p.m.: Due to reports of someone being struck by a train, emergency personnel are presently at Maidenhead Railway Station.

The Great Western Railway has issued a travel advisory, stating that delays are anticipated between London Paddington and Reading until at least 3pm.

The railway operator released a statement that read, “We regret to inform you that a person has been hit by a train, resulting in the blocking of all lines.”

“All trains operating in the region must stop right away. Trains will be rerouted to run on alternate lines around the impacted region wherever possible.
