A woman was discovered dead in Blackpool, and two people have been taken into custody. This morning (Thursday), her body was found on Gorton Street in the coastal town.
The woman, in her 20s, raised the alarm, and emergency personnel descended upon the location at approximately 9:30 am. The road was blocked off while investigators started looking into the incident.
Two men in their 60s were reportedly detained this evening by Lancashire Police on suspicion of supplying a controlled substance.
The street was roped off, and images provided with The Blackpool Lead and reported by Lancs Live showed police and paramedics there. At approximately eleven in the morning, two ambulances and five police cars were visible in the neighbourhood. Reports that the woman’s body was discovered inside an outdated, abandoned ambulance have not yet been verified.
“When officers arrived, they tragically discovered a woman in her 20s dead. The death is being handled as an unexpected one, and while it is being looked into, it is not currently thought to be suspicious. Due to suspicions that they were selling a controlled substance, two men in their 60s were placed under arrest. The investigation is still ongoing.
