According to provincial police (SQ), a head-on incident on Highway 30 in Candiac killed two individuals.
“Around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning, emergency services responded to a head-on collision between two vehicles at kilometre 56,” SQ spokesperson Elizabeth Marquis-Guy said.
The driver of one of the automobiles, a woman in her forties, was pronounced deceased at the site.
A man in his twenties was taken to the hospital in severe condition, but he eventually died from his injuries.
The collision included two automobiles moving down a route where all lanes were meant to be heading in the same direction.
Police are currently investigating how the two cars crashed head-on, especially considering traffic on Highway 30 is separated by a median.
