Police confirmed that a man’s body was discovered in a river.
On Tuesday (October 22), shortly after 9 a.m., emergency personnel were called to the River Eden near Carlisle’s Sheepmount Athletics Stadium. Cumbria Police stated that formal identification has not yet taken place.

In a statement issued this morning, a force spokesperson said: “Police can confirm body of a man was found in the River Eden, near the Sheep Mount in Carlisle at around 9:10am yesterday morning (22 October).
“Formal identification has not yet taken place. The death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious at this time.”
