A man was killed after being hit by a car that failed to halt at the scene in East Ham, Newham, this morning.
At 5.11 a.m. today, Metropolitan Police were dispatched to Barking Road at its intersection with Arragon Road in response to complaints of a disturbance and a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
Officers came and started performing CPR before London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance Service personnel treated the man.
Despite their best attempts, the man in his 30s was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers believe they know who the victim is and his next of kin have been made aware of the event.
A crime scene has been put in place and a probe has been initiated to discover what transpired.
Met Police said the automobile did not stop after hitting the guy, and officers are seeking for it and its driver.
There have been no arrests made at this time.

According to the AA, Barking Road is now closed eastbound between Boleyn Road and Kimberley Avenue.
Bus routes 5, 58, 115, and 147 are now detoured.
