A PASSENGER has died in an accident near Northwich.
Cheshire Police have confirmed that a man died in an accident on the A533 Runcorn Road today.
He was the passenger of a white Suzuki Celerio that crashed with a blue Ford Focus around 9.16 a.m.
His next of kin have been notified and are being assisted by specialised officials.
Meanwhile, both drivers have been sent to the hospital with’serious injuries’.
Police are asking anyone with knowledge or dashcam footage to come forward.
Inspector Steve Griffiths of the Cheshire Police Serious and Complex incident Investigation Unit said, “Enquiries into this collision are ongoing, and we are committed to doing everything we can to determine exactly what happened.”
“As part of our inquiry, we’d like to hear from anyone who was in the neighbourhood at the time who believes they witnessed the occurrence.
“The same goes for anyone with dashcam or CCTV evidence that could help the inquiry.
“We are also looking to speak to anyone who resides on Runcorn Road, who may have captured CCTV or doorbell footage of the vehicles involved prior to the collision.”
Runcorn Road is closed between Barnton and the A49 while emergency services work on the site.
