Tragedy as man killed and four fighting for life in hospital following a terrifying crash in Coventry, police appealing for witnesses

Last night, there was a crash on Firefly Road, which crosses the A45 Stonebridge Highway.

A man was sadly killed and four others were critically injured in a terrifying two-car crash in Coventry yesterday night. The 33-year-old driver of a white Seat Leon Cupra was pronounced dead at the site of the accident at Firefly Road, which crosses the A45 Stonebridge Highway, about 10.15 p.m.

His family has been notified and is receiving help during this difficult time, according to West Midlands Police. His passenger, a man in his thirties, was treated by paramedics before being sent to the hospital with injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.

Three individuals in the second car, a blue Citroen C3, sustained serious injuries that are thought to be life-threatening. The driver, a guy in his fifties, and two female passengers in their sixties are still in hospital in stable condition today.

“We’ve spoken to witnesses and investigators are reviewing CCTV from around the area as we work to establish exactly what happened,” a representative for the police said. “However, we would urge anyone who was driving on or near Firefly Road last night to examine their dashcam because it may have critical information regarding the collision.
