Jay Ansell, a 20-year-old man killed in a traffic accident, has been identified locally.
Mr Ansell of Handcross died after crashing in the early hours of this morning.
The crash occurred on the B2036, near Burgess Hill.
People on Facebook have paid tribute to him, characterising him as a beloved figure.
They stated: “The Volkswagen Golf was spotted by another driver shortly after 5.30am, but police believe that the crash may have happened some time before that.”
Sergeant Stewart Goodwin of the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit stated, “The vehicle had cooled down when we arrived, so I believe it may have left the road some time earlier.” We’d like to hear from anyone who saw the automobile off the B2036 Cuckfield Road before 5.30 a.m.
