THREE people have been taken to hospital following a crash.
Yesterday, there were reports of a crash along the A556 Chester Road, which prompted the call of emergency services to Delamere.
Two automobiles were involved in the incident, and firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service had to put out the fire in one of them.
A fire service representative made the following statement at 6 p.m. on Monday: “North West Fire Control got many calls reporting a significant road traffic collision involving two vehicles just after 4.30 p.m.
“Crews wearing breathing apparatus were dispatched to the scene and put out a fire that involved one of the cars.
Three casualties were attended to by them and their North West Ambulance Service colleagues.
“One fire engine is still on the scene to help with clean-up after the casualties were transported to the hospital.”
Due to the collision, the A556 was closed in both directions, resulting in considerable traffic in the region.
For more information, the North West Ambulance Service and Cheshire Police have been contacted.
