Three people arrested in connection with the death of a man in Dorchester have been released without charge.

Yesterday evening at 9:05 p.m., Dorset Police received a report of an assault at a Milford Road property. After suffering severe brain injuries, a man in his 60s was admitted to the hospital for medical attention.

Sadly, the man passed away this morning, and detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) of the Force looked into the event.

The man’s death is no longer being investigated as suspicious after thorough investigation and a post-mortem study revealed that he tragically passed away from natural causes. There was insufficient evidence to draw a connection between the incident and the man’s eventual demise.

The 44-year-old woman who was detained on suspicion of helping an offender and conspiring to pervert the course of justice, along with two men, ages 18 and 20, who were also detained on suspicion of murder, have all been released without charge and will not be subject to any more police action regarding the incident.

Our thoughts continue to remain with the loved ones of the man who sadly died.
