Three more charged after South Gloucestershire office attack

According to Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE), three more people have been charged in relation to a Palestine Action demonstration that took place near the South Gloucestershire location of an Israeli weapons company.

On 6 August, protestors with sledgehammers allegedly broke into the Elbit Systems UK building near Patchway, Bristol, causing an incident.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) declared that it would present the charges’ “terrorist connection” before the court.

According to CTPSE, three persons have been charged jointly with aggravated burglary and criminal damage in connection with the incident on Friday.

On Friday, Westminster Magistrates’ Court will see appearances by Ian Sanders, 45, of Regent Place, Royal Leamington Spa; William Plastow, 33, of High Croft Avenue, Manchester; and Madeline Norman, 29, of Wester Drylaw Drive, Edinburgh.

In addition, Norman faces charges of violent disorder.

On Tuesday, seven people who had previously been charged showed up in Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The court was informed that during the protest, a car crashed into the building’s doors, injuring a security guard as well as two responding police officers.

All of the accused were placed under remand and are scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on September 13.

According to CTPSE, the building had sustained “extensive damage” and corporate employees had also been “seriously assaulted”.

Tuesday saw Avon & Somerset Police state that they were “not aware of any wider risk to the local community in South Gloucestershire” and that there was no connection between the incident and the violent disturbance episodes that have been reported around the UK recently.
