James Boland was apprehended in the Tollcross area with the cocaine after police received information about his and his Skoda’s drug-related activity in Cambuslang.
A cab driver’s car had £80,000 worth of high-purity narcotics when it was discovered.
On July 24, 2024, James Boland, 36, was apprehended in Glasgow’s Tollcross carrying cocaine.
Information concerning Boland’s and his Skoda’s narcotics possession in the Cambuslang region had been sent to the police. Boland was intercepted by plainclothes officers in an unmarked car, and he was taken into custody so that he could be searched.
Glasgow Sheriff Court was informed by prosecutor Sean Docherty that there was a white block wrapped in polythene inside the vehicle’s boot. A little sample with 80% purity was obtained.
“The cocaine was worth between £42,000 and 80,000 at street value.”
“They’re not my drugs, I don’t know. During Covid I fell on hard times and this week I have been told to collect that parcel then await an instruction,” Boland said after being taken into custody, warned, and prosecuted.
Boland entered a guilty plea to involvement in the distribution of a prohibited substance.
