The event that happened on 22nd December 2023 recorded one of the most encouraging attendance in a music concert in the country, with an estimated attendance of 30,000 audience. People in Accra as well as people across the country came to grace the occasion to make it a memorable one.
The occasion, which brought together admirers from all walks of life and displayed Stonebwoy’s talent as a performer, would always be remembered as a landmark event in Accra’s entertainment industry. renowned for his electric live performances and music that defies genres, gave the audience a night to remember full of dance, rhythm, and an unbreakable bond between the artist and his followers. The electric mood that their musical icon produced was much enjoyed by the Bhim Natives.
A level of extra excitement was added to the evening by surprise collaborations with fellow artists, including Jamaican singer Jahmiel, D-Black, Kuame Eugene, S3fa, Edem, and Efya. This year’s concert includes yearly Stonebwoy’s events, Ashiaman to the world, and the Bhim show. At the Bhim Concert, The Bhim President culminates his 5th Dimension World Tour, which represents his fifth body of work, with an amazing finale.
Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall, and reggae musician Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, was born on March 5, 1988.
He serves as Burniton Music Group’s CEO. He took home the 2015 Ghana Music Awards’ Artist of the Year title as well as the BET Awards’ Best International Act: Africa category. In addition, he has two Billboard plaques. After achieving 100 million streams on Boomplay, Stonebwoy was awarded the Golden Club plaque. He’s been called the reggae and dance hall king of Africa.
In addition, Stonebwoy has acted in films such as Happy Death Day and My Name Is Ramadan. He is an international sanitation ambassador. He was appointed brand ambassador for Voltic Natural Mineral Water in September 2019. He represents Tecno Mobile as a brand ambassador in Ghana. In 2022, he signed a record deal with Universal Music Group’s Def Jam Recordings, including its flagship Def Jam Recordings Africa. He is expected to release three albums under the label.
In August 2014, Stonebwoy began his world tour in the Euro-zone. He performed in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Austria. On his 2016 Canada-America tour, he rocked Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sidney in Australia. In the final quarter of 2017, Stonebwoy traveled to the Nordic region to thrill fans in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. Stonebwoy attended the Reggae Sumfest, Afro nation festival in Portugal, Rotterdam reggae festival, Uppsala Reggae Festival, Rototom Sunsplash and many more.
Stonebwoy was one of the main performers at the Global Citizen Festival, which took place on September 24, 2022, at Accra’s Black Star Square. He performed alongside artists such as Usher, SZA, Sarkodie, and others. Both audience members and reviewers deemed Stonebwoy to be among the show’s top performers.
His recent 5th dimension tour which ended yesterday night started in Europe where he performed in Germany and the United Kingdom. In Germany he sold out venues like the Gretchen Music Venue Berlin, where he was given massive support from fans in the city. He also performed in the Docks Music Venue in Hamburg and ended in Düsseldorf.
He then headed to the UK and sold out venues including the Canvas, Manchester, 02 Academy, Birmingham and the Electric Brixton in London. Considering Stonebwoy’s relevance and what he has achieved, he is undoubtedly one of the greatest in Africa and his fans around the world expect to see more of this concert not just in Ghana but around the world.
