An investigation has been launched and police are appealing for witnesses Roads were cordoned off after two men were stabbed. Merseyside Police were called to Four Acre Lane in Clockface, St Helens at around 5am yesterday, Sunday, July 21 following reports a man in his 30s had been assaulted.
When officers arrived at the scene they found he had stab wounds to his shoulder and hands.
A short time later, officers were informed that a second guy, also in his 30s, had arrived at a house on a nearby street with stab wounds to the chest and back. The man fled but was apprehended nearby by authorities.
According to police, both males were transported to the hospital in an ambulance and are stated to be in stable condition. Merseyside Police have initiated an inquiry.
House-to-house, CCTV, and witness interviews are being conducted in the area, and cordons have been placed to allow for a forensic investigation. A traffic closure was in effect between Burnage Avenue and Neston Avenue, and St Helens Council reported that the car park of Chester Lane Library was also inaccessible.
Detective Inspector Alan Wood stated, “Our investigations are clearly in the early stages as we seek to determine what occurred, and we will make every effort to speak with the two men involved as soon as possible.”
“To help with the investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the Four Acre Lane area around 5 a.m. today and saw or heard anything, as well as anyone who believes they captured something on a Ring doorbell, CCTV, or dashcam. Please contact us as soon as possible.”
“We will have a visible presence around the shopping centre as enquiries continue.”
