Between now and the end of the transfer window, Sheffield United must decide what to do with the young player in the near future. With a win away at Preston North End and a draw at home against QPR, they have four points after the opening round of the new Championship season.
Peck, 19, has participated in all three of the Blades’ games this season. He also made an appearance in the Carabao Cup first round against Wrexham. The summer of 2028 marks the expiration of his Bramall Lane contract.
According to The Star’s most recent report on his predicament, he has supporters in the third tier who are eager to bring him in temporarily before the deadline on Friday. At this point, it is unknown who his possible suitors might be.
Sheffield United man eyed
Peck would benefit from leaving on a loan to gain experience playing regular football.
Even though he has played well so far this season, a team in the lower division would definitely start him rather than waiting for opportunities under Chris Wilder.
A few months away would help him gain more experience. But Sheffield United won’t want to shortchange themselves, so they will need to carefully consider their options.
Peck played regularly for the Premier League team at several different young levels after rising through the ranks of Arsenal’s academy.
After leaving London for the north in 2021, the former England youth international joined the Blades’ roster.
In order to further his career in the National League, he was loaned to Oldham Athletic in 2022. He played nine games for the National League team before returning to South Yorkshire.
Peck, who is highly regarded, made his Sheffield United debut last year against Brentford in a top division match.
What next for Sheffield United youngster?
Until the deadline, the prospect is not ruling out a loan exit.
The Blades are currently getting ready for their forthcoming league matchup with Norwich City.
They will be keen to go back to winning ways at Carrow Road after blowing a 2-0 lead against QPR the previous time out.
