Sadio Mane Marries Longtime Girlfriend

On Sunday, January 7, 2024, in Dakar, Sadio Mane, the star of Al-Nassr, reportedly tied the knot with his partner, Aisha Tamba, in a romantic ceremony.

It was reported that friends, family, former players, and even current Senegal national team players attended the wedding.

The former Liverpool player went back home to be with his teammates as the African champions began their pre-AFCON 2023 training camp.

Prior to departing for the Ivory Coast, the 31-year-old married earlier this month and dedicated a stadium he constructed in his hometown of Bambali.

In pictures circulated on social media, Tamba appeared wearing a vibrant bridal gown and grinning broadly on her special day. Mane was dressed in a classic white Arabian attire.

Mane will then go to Niger with his colleagues for Senegal’s pre-AFCON friendly before the team departs for Ivory Coast to start their championship defence.

Mané was a star for Senegal in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, as they won the tournament for the first time. Mané faced his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah in the final match against Egypt. In the seventh minute of the match, Mané’s penalty was saved, but he went on to score the winning kick in the penalty shootout.

  Mané was voted the tournament’s player of the year in addition to having three goals and two assists before the final and scoring the game-winning kick to win the trophy. He also scored the game-winning penalty kick in the penalty shootout against Egypt in the third round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, which ended in a 1-1 draw overall. This allowed his nation to advance to the World Cup.

In a 3-1 victory over Benin on June 4, 2022, during Senegal’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification, Mané scored three goals in a row to surpass Henri Camara as Senegal’s all-time best scorer with 32 goals.

Despite an injury he sustained during Bayern Munich’s 6-1 victory over Werder Bremen a few days earlier, Mané was added to Senegal’s 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 11, 2022. On November 17, nevertheless, Mané withdrew from the team after being declared ineligible for the competition.

On November 18, 2023, Mané made his 100th appearance for Senegal by scoring twice against South Sudan in a FIFA World Cup qualifier for 2026.

Mané was included in Senegal’s roster for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which was scheduled to take place in the Ivory Coast, in December 2023 but was postponed to January 2024.

Mané is a versatile attacker who scores goals frequently. His primary strengths are his finishing, speed, technique, and deception when in possession, along with his tactical awareness, creativity, balance, control, touch with the ball, and dribbling abilities.

Mané typically uses his stronger right foot to cut into the centre and score goals, and he plays as a winger on the left flank.

After Luis Díaz was signed for the 2021–22 campaign, Mané started to play more as a central striker. Kyle Walker has described Mané as one of the hardest opponents he has ever faced.

Mane led signal to win their first ever AFCON title and will be looking forward to win another International trophy for his country before he retires which this years AFCON tournament is not an exception.
